Let her eat cake?

My mother died at 93 yrs...she had Dementia the 6 years of her life...she always had a healthy diet ..in fact she was a bit before her time with regards to eating a healthy diet...in the last years of her life even before the dementia set in she started to eat all sort of stuff and we couldn't believe it :) but we let her because we thought ..she has spent her whole life doing the right things and now she was getting old..so let her be ....I never thought my mother would end up in a nursing home ..but sadly she did and we also had to deal with her not knowing any of us..but she was happy and that's all that matters...the last couple of weeks before she died...we prayed for her to be taken...because I was sad to see such a strong,fun, artistic person reduced to this..
