My new puppy (8 weeks) cries at night and whenever i leave the room, (in the daytime). what can i do?

A puppy is like a baby, it want's its mommy and you happen to be that. Let your puppy sleep near you in your room. You might have to get up a few times in the night to let him/her out for the potty. Also if you have a cage for your puppy set up with a old blanket and toys he/she will feel more secure.
