When doctors will grow up?
*facepalm* Those are all completely necessary. That metal thing wasn't a 'toy', it was a medical device to make examination of your easier for everyone involved. The birth control pill has major effects on your body chemistry; to put it simply, it comes very close to convincing your body it's pregnant all the time. Examining the vulva, , and rectal glands are all important to make sure there are no abnormalities indicative of anything that would be detrimental to your health should you start the pill. And while I don't think the exam was strictly necessary, it's good to have those regularly to check for lumps.
