Why oh why did my old fashioned fudge stick to the pan?

Oh, sorry about your fudge. That is so frustrating. Well, it would seem it went into the hard ball stage. I did this once. I reheated it at a low temperature and it melted. Poured it into crushed nuts as toffee. =)
