Anyone know a way to get my cd-rom drive to open?

My cd-rom drive will not open...even tried going to My Computer and trying to get it to "eject" and nothing. I know once before we had to use a flat screwdriver to help pry it open and after that it worked fine for a week or so....this time not even that is working. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...
