I'm thinking of joining the Army Reserve and I have a few questions?

I will be going to college this fall, and I will be a freshman. Right now I feel the calling to serve my country by joining the Army Reserve, but I want to get through my 1'st year at college first, because I have already planned on it for a long time. So I am thinking that maybe I will join the reserve next summer and go to BCT and get all my training, then when my training is done and if I don't get deployed right away I will continue my college cles then. Does this sound like a good idea? I would be getting money to help pay for college too. Also I am thinking of the army Military Police MOS since thats what my dad was, and I have an interest in it. Could anyone tell me anything about the military police or bct? Any feedback would be great.
